The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 4  Classic

This time around, Samsung unveiled two smartwatches, rather than only one, as the tradition goes. They are the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic.

These are the first smartwatches from Samsung, which run on Google’s new Wear OS and come powered by Samsung’s “OneUI Watch“. With this new OS and UI, you can see several Google apps like Messages, Maps, Google Pay and even YouTube Music. Additionally, you also get the proprietary Samsung apps like SmartThings and Bixby on the smartwatch for the first time.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

This vanilla variant of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 series is the Galaxy Watch Active 2. It has a sleek design with an aluminium casing and a rubber strap.

According to Samsung, this smartwatch is a modern and minimalist smartwatch with practical day-to-day utility. This watch comes in two different sizes, 40 mm and 44 mm, with varying colour options according to the size you choose.

The 40 mm variant comes in black, silver, pink and gold colour shades, while the 44 mm variant comes in black, silver and green colour options.

Samsung Watch 4 Classic

Talking about the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, it is the successor to the Galaxy Watch 3. Samsung tags it as the “premium, timeless smartwatch design” and brings back the rotating bezel feature.

You get to choose between two watch casings, either a stainless steel one or an aluminium one. Depending on the case you choose, the display will be protected by Gorilla Glass DX or DX+.

The Watch 4 Classic comes in two sizes, 42 mm and 46 mm, and you can get both these variants in Black and Silver finishes.

Under the hood, both the smartwatches are powered by the powerful chipset from Samsung, the Exynos W920 coupled with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS and optional LTE support. Other health and tracking features include blood oxygen monitoring, ECG, heart rate monitor, VO2 max, body composition analysis, advanced sleep-tracking and an Always-On Display.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2

Moving further from the foldable and wearables launched at the Galaxy Unpacked event, the successor of their premium TWS Galaxy Buds 2 is also unveiled. With the Galaxy Buds Live and the Galaxy Buds Pro, these Galaxy Buds 2 add a variety to Samsung’s TWS line-up.

The Galaxy Buds 2 offer a comfortable fit and a point worth mentioning; they are the “smallest and lightest earbuds yet”, as per Samsung.

Talking about the audio quality and experience comes with dynamic two-way speakers and active noise cancellation (ANC) support. It allows you to switch between immersive aural experience or hearing the real-world closely.

The earbuds come in four optimistic colours, graphite, white, olive and lavender.

Pricing and Availability of all the products

Previously Samsung said they are aiming for making their foldable phones accessible for all. And sticking to their words, they did it this time.

The big daddy, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, starts at $1,799, and the sleeker one, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, starts at $999. The successor of the premium TWS from Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, is priced at $150. The Samsung Galaxy 4 and Watch 4 Classic smartwatches start at $249 and $349, respectively, for the Bluetooth-only models.

On the other hand, the LTE version starts at $299 and $399, respectively. You also get limited Thom Browne edition versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Watch Classic.

The foldable phones get the signature Thom Browne red, white and blue colours on the design and leather accessories. On the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, you get to see a Rhodium-plated look.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Watch 4/Classic and the Galaxy Buds 2 will be available from August 27 and the limited Thom Browne edition products will be available from late September.
