Asus Chromebook laptops launched in India starting at Rs. 17,999

On 15 July Thursday, Asus launched their latest line-up of laptops called Asus Chromebook, consisting of 6 laptop models. The primary target audience for their Chromebooks are users who want an affordable laptop for daily chores like learning, minor works and entertainment.

During the launch of the Chromebook range, Dinesh Sharma, Business Head of Asus India, said, “We are excited to introduce our ‘Thoughtfully Simple’ yet ‘Transformative’ Asus Chromebook series. 

He added that their Chromebook series is targeted at modern-day learners and cloud-focused enterprises and is designed to provide an intuitive and user-friendly experience.

Moreover, they will also be announcing community support activities for their Asus Chromebook users. They will also share a range of resources for their users to enhance their experience and make it ‘Thoughtfully Simple’.

Overview

As mentioned above, the new Asus Chromebook series accompanies three models. They include Chromebook C223, Chromebook C423, Chromebook C523, and Chromebook Flip C214. The Chromebook C423 and C523 laptops are available in touch and non-touch variants.

Asus’ latest Chromebook series comes with an 80% screen-to-body ratio, which will provide you with a better viewing experience. All the laptops in the range come with Intel Celeron N-series processors and work on Chrome OS.

Price and Availability

As for the pricing of new Asus Chromebooks, they are pretty affordable. They start with Asus Chromebook C223, which is the cheapest of them all, starting at Rs. 17,999.

The Asus Chromebook C423 comes in two variants, touch and non-touch. The touchscreen variant costs Rs. 23,999, and the non-touch variant costs Rs. 19,999.

Then comes the Asus Chromebook C523; it also has two different variants, touch and non-touch support. The touchscreen variant of this model costs Rs. 24,999 and non-touch variant costs Rs. 20,999.

And lastly, the Asus Chromebook Flip C214 costs Rs. 23,999. All the Asus Chromebook series of laptops will be available on Flipkart from July 22, 12 AM onwards.

Asus Chromebook C223

It is the cheapest of them all and comes with an 11.6-inch HD display with 1336✕768 pixels. It is a non-touch display with a peak brightness of up to 200 nits and a 16:9 aspect ratio.

The laptop is powered by Intel’s Celeron N3350 dual-core processor with Intel HD Graphics 500 support. It is coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, expandable via microSD card slot, which has support up to 2 TB.

Connectivity ports include a USB 3.2 Gen Type-A port, two USB Type-C ports, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a microSD card reader slot.

It has a 38Whr battery pack, a 720p HD webcam for video calling purposes and a spill-resistant keyboard.

Asus Chromebook Flip C214

This laptop comes with an 11.6-inch HD anti-glare display. It has a 16:9 aspect ratio with a resolution of 1266 ✕ 768 pixels. The laptop has a 360-degree hinge, which means that the laptop can be used in multiple orientations.

Powering the laptop is Intel’s Celeron N4020 dual-core processor, which comes in Intel UHD Graphics 600. Coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of eMMC storage, it also supports a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 2 TB.

As for connectivity ports and features, you get one USB Type-A port (USB 3.2 gen), two USB Type-C ports (USB 3.2 gen), a 3.5 mm earphone jack and a microSD card slot.

The keyboard on this laptop is spill-resistant, with military-grade standard certification (US MIL-STD 810G). It is backed by a 50 Whr battery, which is claimed to provide you with a battery backup of up to 11 hours.

Asus Chromebook C423

This variant of the Asus Chromebook features a 14-inch HD display with optional touch support. It has a resolution of 1366 X 768 pixels, with 200 nits brightness and a 16:9 aspect ratio.

It is powered by an Intel Celeron processor (N3350) with Intel HD Graphics 500 support, with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The storage is expandable up to 256 GB via a microSD card.

The connectivity ports include:

  • A USB Type-A port.
  • Two USB Type-C ports.
  • A 3.5 mm headphone jack and a microSD card expansion slot.

Backing the laptop is a 38Whr battery.  You also get support for Google Assistant voice recognition and a 720p HD webcam.

Asus Chromebook C523

The Asus Chromebook C523 laptop comes with a 15.6-inch HD display, with an exact resolution of 1366 X 768 pixels. It’s another variant that supports touch input, and everything is the same as that.

With a 16:9 aspect ratio, it has a peak brightness of up to 200 nits. It comes powered by the Intel Celeron N3350 processor with Intel HD Graphics 500 support.

It is coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, with storage expansion through a microSD card slot of up to 2 TB.

The connectivity ports are the same as other products in the series, including a USB Type-A port, two USB Type-C ports, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a microSD card expansion slot. You also get 720p HD webcam support.
